Indian Railways has planned to build the third Metro Rail route connecting Pardi in East Nagpur to Hingna on the city‘s outskirts via Jaiprakash Nagar Metro Rail Station in South-West Nagpur in a phased manner. The route will be along the Inner Ring Road (IRR) and Orange/London Street Road. Under phase-I, two Metro Rail routes have been developed in the city — Pardi to Lokmanya Nagar (Hingna) and Automotive Square to Khapri. Under phase-II, an extension of these two routes to adjoining towns has been proposed. Apart from this, the government also assured to sanction flyover on IRR between Shatabdi Chowk and Mhalgi Nagar Square, which is situated on the proposed third Metro Rail route.
