ABB & Titagarh rail systems join forces for metro propulsion systems
ABB and Titagarh Rail Systems have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at supplying propulsion systems for metro rolling stock projects in India. The collaboration includes Titagarh purchasing ABB propulsion systems, manufacturing rights and production licenses for traction motors, and technology transfer for driverless metro train control management system (TCMS) software. The venture, with a focus on sustainable and energy-efficient rail transportation, seeks to expand its presence in India and beyond. The agreement involves Titagarh developing in-house capabilities for TCMS, including driverless TCMS, and establishing a TCMS laboratory.
