Metro project attracts building biggies
A many as six top metro infra builders have bid for construction of viaduct of Kamptee Road stretch of Nagpur Metro Rail entailing an investment of Rs.560 crore with a length of 7.3 km including the 4.3 km long double decker flyover. Work on other three stretches — Wardha Road, Hingna Road, and Central Avenue, has already started, sources in Mahametro said that the six companies are — ITD Cementation Simplex (which built the Gowari flyover), Afcons (which built the Ramjhula), Gammon India, NCC (which is building the Wardha Road Metro), and ILFS building Metro stations on Wardha Road are also in the fray. The technical evaluation of the viaduct tender has started and is expected to take a month. The financial bid will be opened after that and it will take another two to three weeks for evaluation. Work on five out of seven Metro stations of Kamptee Road stretch is currently in full swing.
