MCGM awards multiple packages of ₹12,000 cr road project

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has recently awarded the multiple packages of 29.2-km road project entailing an investment of ₹12,000 crore to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in a joint venture with Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) and Hyundai Development Corporation. The mega project in question will connect Marine Lines in the south of the city to the western suburb of Kandivali involving the construction of a series of tunnels, roads on reclaimed land, roads on stilts and bridges with interchanges planned at strategic locations for dispersal of traffic. Larsen & Toubro L&T has announced that its heavy civil infrastructure vertical has won orders worth ₹7,489 crore, which includes two packages (1 and 4) of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project developed by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. HCC- Hyundai JV has also confirmed that they have been awarded a ₹2,126 crore package as part of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project. The contract work includes design and construction of road, bridges, interchanges including reclamation and associated works between Baroda Palace near Haji Ali and the Worli end of Bandra Worli Sea Link.
