In a move to revamp a part of the port trust land on the eastern coast of Mumbai, the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) has recently floated bids to appoint a consultant for developing a marina, a tourist village and a bigger passenger terminal, among other projects. A consultant will be appointed to prepare a master plan to develop the port land, along with creating an infrastructure design matching the Request for Proposal (RFP) floated by the MbPT, the concept design will be prepared for an area of 342 hectares. The master plan, Detailed Project Report (DPR), marketing strategy, as well as the implementation plan will be prepared for an area of 165 hectares, as only that much land is immediately available with the port trust. Overall, MbPT owns 752 hectares of land and after appointing consultant, it will finalise and prepare the master plan, said official sources.
