Mahindra Logistics plans to add 500,000 sq ft of warehousing space during this fiscal, CEO, Pirojshaw Sarkari, said. It will include setting up of three new warehouses in and around Chennai as the company has 13 million sq ft of space across the country. In the last one year, the government has brought in many changes to reduce logistics cost which is critical for promoting 'Make in India'. Moreover, prior to the introduction of GST, in every state, a company had to open a go-down or a small warehouse, but GST has enabled setting up of large format warehouses.
