Maharashtra Cabinet Clears Pune–Shirur Highway & New Six-Lane Projects in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Pune–Shirur-Highway
The infrastructure committee of the Maharashtra cabinet has approved a major proposal to build a multi-lane Pune–Shirur highway, along with two key highway projects in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

The 53.4-km Pune–Shirur national highway will feature a four-lane road and a six-lane elevated expressway, significantly improving regional connectivity and reducing travel time.

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the cabinet approved two six-lane highway projects — a 32.8-km stretch from Shendra Industrial Estate to Bidkin Industrial Estate and a 26-km road from Bidkin to Dhoregaon, linking to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Pune highway.

The committee also granted in-principle approval for a new greenfield road connecting the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalna DMIC Node at Karmad to the Samruddhi Expressway via Bidkin.

These approvals mark another step toward strengthening Maharashtra’s road network and supporting industrial and economic development across the region.
