Maharashtra approves Rs. 230cr road project

Road Projects in Maharashtra
For the construction of 2.5km long flyover projects in Maharashtra worth Rs. 230cr, the National Highways Authorities of India (NHAI) has completed the detailed project report covering the area between LIC Square to Nelson Square and that the DPR has already been submitted to NHAI headquarters in New Delhi for initiating the final tendering process and the construction work is all set to start shortly, sources said. Adding that the flyover was supposed to be constructed by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation with NMC to bear the expenditure, but NMC insisted on constructing it and approached Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) to provide funds but the moment the local MP, Nitin Gadkari, became the Union transport Minister, he directed the NHAI to take over the construction work of the project.
