Maha Metro
Work on the third stretch of the Pune Metro-rail between Civil Court and Ramwadi is all set to start shortly, as this section is a part of the Vanaz-Ramwadi Metro line. The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation will soon appoint an agency to take up the civil work for this elevated stretch. Tenders have been floated and a firm will be hired in a month, official sources said, claiming that five companies have bid for the contract with scope of work including designing and construction of a 6.77 km viaduct and construction of two others — a 0.43 km section near Sangam bridge and a 0.51 km line near Bund Garden. The alignment of the route has been finalized in which MahaMetro has introduced score of changes in the route alignment near Pune railway station. The preliminary plan had the route aligned from Mangalwar Peth via the station‘s main entrance towards Bund Garden and it has since been changed to go via RTO, Raja Bahadur Mill Road and the station‘s rear entrance paving the way for passengers to get easy access to Metro service from Pune station, they added.
