Lucknow gets flyover near Khurram Nagar
The Union defence ministers Rajnath Singh has laid the foundation stone of a ₹180-crore flyover project near Khurram Nagar in Lucknow. The defence minister, who is also the local MP, also listed several road projects that are aimed to decongest traffic in the capital city including another flyover near the Engineering College and an elevated road leading to the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences. He also listed details of projects already undertaken and those in the pipeline or the proposal stage. Lucknow would be among the top three cities of the country because of its pace of development as the country holds the world record for the fastest construction of roads. The construction work to build the Lucknow-Kanpur expressway would begin shortly and completed by the end of 2022. NHAI was also pursuing the construction of the Chambal Expressway that would connect Etawah to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Kota.
