Larsen & Toubro secures ₹5,000-cr EPC contract

Larsen & Toubro has won an EPC contract of about ₹5,000 crore in Bihar. The mega contract, which was secured through an international competitive bidding on Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) basis, has been bagged from Indian Oil Corporation with scope of work for expansion of the Barauni Refinery in Bihar. The contract won by L&T's subsidiary of the Hydrocarbon Engineering involves commissioning of 9 million ton per annum (MTPA) Atmospheric & Vacuum Distillation Unit. The EPCC contract is for setting up a new 9 MTPA Atmospheric & Vacuum Distillation Unit (AVU) and allied facilities (EPCC-1 Package) for Barauni Refinery Capacity Expansion Project at IOCL's refinery where the capacity of the refinery is being augmented from current installed capacity of 6 MTPA to 9 MTPA, the company said in an official statement. The contract demonstrates IOCL's trust in L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering's capabilities in the hydrocarbon sector.
