L&T takes up Rs. 1,100-cr project

Adding to its project portfolio in the construction segment, Larsen and Toubro's Hydrocarbon Engineering recently bagged orders of Rs. 1,100-cr from IOC for its Bongaigaon refinery in Assam. The contracts pertain to IOC's Indane Maximization project, under which it will set up a fluidized cracking unit including LPG treatment facility. Larsen and Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of engineering major Larsen and Toubro (L&T), said sources, elaborating that the contract covers extended basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, supply, transportation, and installation, among others. The process licensor for the Indane Maximisation (INDMAX) unit is Lummus Technology and the Merichem, US, is the process licensor for the LPG treatment unit.
