L&T takes up $430-mn offshore EPC orders

Larsen Toubro
Adding to its project portfolio in the international arena, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) has recently received a large order from the $430-million petroleum coke plant coming up in Oman, and being developed by Salmeen Industrial Projects LLC (SIP) and funded by BSW Group Holdings. The EPC contract awarded to L&T's hydrocarbon business is valued between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore. The scope of work includes selection of technology licensor, front-end engineering design (FEED), and EPC works for two calcimine plants that would annually produce 450,000 tons of calcimined petroleum coke — a core carbon component in the production of aluminum. A company official informed that the contract will further reinforce L&T's operations in Oman and provide an opportunity to contribute to the expansion of industrial facilities in Sohar.
