L&T secure Rs. 2,271-cr contracts

The engineering and construction giant, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in a recent cache has bagged Rs 2,271-cr orders covering various segments it is currently operating, said official sources, adding that its Buildings & Factories Business wing has bagged a major turnkey order worth Rs 1,500-cr from a leading developer to construct a world-class Mixed Used Development in realty project in New Delhi. The project includes construction of a convention centre, business centre tower and two hotel towers as part of the overall development with scope of work including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and finishing. Besides, the company said the Heavy Civil Infrastructure business in its defence segment has bagged a construction orders worth Rs 450-cr for the upgradation works at Air Force Academy, Hyderabad. In this project, the scope of work involves resurfacing and extension of main runway and parallel taxi track, widening of tracks, earth filling and allied works. Its Power Transmission and Distribution segment bagged new orders worth Rs 321-cr in both the domestic and international markets. As a part of business strategic initiative to foray into South East Asia, a breakthrough order is received from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) for the engineering, procurement and construction of 500 kV Transmission Line for Thai/Laos Border Crossing.
