Eastern peripheral e-way becomes realty

Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway
The much delayed 136-km Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway became a realty, as the transport minister has recently inaugurated the 53-km stretch connecting NH-2 (Mathura Road) at Kuslipur in Palwal with Panchgam village on Delhi-Jaipur NH-8 on the outskirts of Manesar in Gurgaon district thereby making commuting shorter for road users between the two districts. Alongside the remaining portion of the expressway has been fast tracked to be commissioned within the stipulated time. Now traffic from Mathura and Agra heading for Gurgaon, Manesar or Jaipur can now use this route instead of entering Delhi and vice versa, saving time and money, besides saving the national capital from pollution. The KMP and the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palway expressways will form a ring road around Delhi to allow polluting trucks and commercial vehicles to bypass the capital. It will help decongest the city and reduce pollution and that the KMP or the western peripheral expressway will pass through Palwal, Gurgaon, Mewat, Jhajjar and Sonepat districts. The eastern peripheral expressway will connect Kundli, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar and Palwal, said official sources.
