Kundan Green Energy to Develop 21 MW Hydropower Plant in Sikkim
Udit Garg, Director of Kundan Green Energy, highlighted the Northeast's substantial hydropower potential, with Sikkim alone possessing an estimated peak potential of 8000 MW and a firm base of 3000 MW. He emphasized Sikkim's vast capacity for hydroelectricity generation, citing 29 approved hydropower projects in various stages of development and a current installed capacity of 55 MW from small hydropower sources. Kundan Green Energy is enthusiastic about partnering with the Government of Sikkim to unlock the state's hydropower potential while adhering to industry best practices.
With four operational projects totaling 35 MW and two upcoming projects in Sikkim, Kundan Green Energy has emerged as a significant energy partner for the state. The company's core strength lies in its execution excellence, with a mean average commissioning time of 4-5 years, significantly outperforming the industry standard of 8-10 years.
