Kerala cracks Rs. 111.5-cr road project

Kerala Road Project
In bid to fast track the construction work involving second reach from Pravachambalam to Balaramapuram road stretch the national highway wing of PWD has called for the tender for works on road stretch starting from Karamana-Kaliyikkavila part of the state highway. The state government accepted the detailed project report which estimated the project cost as Rs 111.5 crore and the project is being executed with the support of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board. Initially, the road building agency faced protest by the local resident living in the vicinity of the road as the rehabilitation of around 22 families at the Old Rajapatha area remains a major hurdle. However, already 93% of land has been acquired and subsequently handed over by revenue department to the state highway authority to speed up the construction work on the project.
