Flyover project worth Rs. 950-cr up for grab in TN

Flyover project
In order to streamline the vehicular traffic movement in the city, the state government has decided 8.5-km long flyover on the Avinashi Road in Tamil Nadu at an investment of Rs. 950 crore. The PWD wing of the state highway is currently busy in preparing that the DPR, which will be submitted to the state government very shortly. The project starts from Uppilipalayam Junction to SITRA-Kalapatti and will help commuters reach the airport without being caught in traffic snarls. An estimate would be prepared based on the design and the entire process is expected to be completed within two months. The designing work will start soon, which will base on the soil testing report, factors like height and width of the pillars, number of pillars, type and depth of the foundation would be decided. The plan is to have ramps to and from the flyover at about four junctions. For now, it has created a tentative design, approximately determining the grid and length of the ramps to carry out digging for pillars, said an official spokesperson.
