Apart from the construction of Hill Highway, which connects Parassala in the Thiruvananthapuram to Nandarappadavu in Kasaragod district of Kerala at an investment of ₹105 crore, the state government has also approved ₹1,426 crore to build roads in over half a dozen of districts. The first phase involves works in the Parassala-Kudappanamoodu stretch where the project will help in improving the agriculture market of high ranges and ensure a better connectivity. This dream project will make Parassala a point of convergence of hill, coastal and national highways. The 1,251-km hill highway will pass through 13 districts and the road network with a length of 493-km in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayand and Kasaragod districts will also be constructed using funding from the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board.
