KEC-MSRDC inks $7-bn road infra pact

Boosting the Maharashtra road infra sector, Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation have inked an agreement to build road infrastructure entailing an investment of $7-bn. The MoU involved the implementation of the 70-km Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway project between Nagpur and Mumbai, two major eastern and western cities in the state. As per the terms and condition of the agreement, Korea Expressway Corporation will review traffic volume and the appropriateness of the funds involved in the construction of the expressway and also to provide technical support for an optimal project implementation plan, such as completion of phases and section-by-section planning. In addition, the corporation is also planning to expand information and human exchanges with respect to construction, operation and maintenance, and research and development among others, said MSRDC sources.
