Karnataka cracks yet another elevated corridor

Elevated Corridor
Close on the heels of floating tenders for 88-km corridors, the Karnataka government is fast-tracking a 22-km long elevated corridor. The Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) has proposed the corridor between Hudson Circle and Sumanahalli (Magadi Road), for which the nodal agency has invited proposals from consultants to prepare the feasibility report. The new elevated corridor will pass through Sheshadri Road, Okalipuram, Rajajinagar entrance, Vijayanagar entrance and Outer Ring Road junction. Official sources at KRDCL said that the 88-km network had to be connected to Magadi Road, one of the major arterial roads in the city. As per the plan, the new corridor with four to six lanes will extend from the Hudson Circle point of the central business district loop under the north-south corridor and will go a long way in addressing the traffic woes of west Bengaluru, and it will have a dedicated lane for public transport.
