K-RIDE invites bids for ₹54,000-cr Bengaluru suburban rail

The Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) has invited bids for comprehensive design consultants (DOC) for a 148-km long suburban rail project in Bengaluru involving an investment of about ₹54,000 crore. The scope of work includes the detailed design consultant for detailed/conceptual design and drawings for all systems, including viaduct, stations (Including E&M Systems), depot (Including E&M Systems), track, signalling & train control, overhead electrification, telecommunication, automatic fare collection, and platform screen Door, with Interfaces for Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). The entire task has to be completed in 4 years. The 148-kilometre suburban rail project will be divided into four sections: KSR Bengaluru City-Yelahanka- Devanahalli (4 km), Byappanahalli-Yeshwantpur-Chikkabanavara (25 km), Kengeri-Cantonment- Whitefield (35 km), and Heelalige-Yelahanka-Rajanukunte (46km). Work on Byappanahalli-Yeshwantpur- Chikkabanavara and Heelalige-Yelahanka-Rajanukunte is expected to begin first.
