J&K gets two AIIMS, two smart cities

Injecting a major booster to Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre has cleared two All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and two smart cities for the state, Chief Minister said in a recent statement. Adding that one each AIIMS has been sanctioned for Jammu & Kashmir by the Centre. In Jammu, AIIMS will be set up at Samba and Awantipora in south Kashmir and in the case of smart cities, she said, Prime Minister has assured that Jammu and Srinagar will be given smart cities status and Rs. 1-cr each has been released for preparing detailed project report (DPR) for each of the projects.
