Apart from launching a 4-lane Highway from Qazigund to Srinagar by the National Highway Authority of India, the State government has also taken up the 6-lanning of road from Sonawar to Gallander and the move will go a long way to ease jams particularly at Pantha Chowk and Pampore road stretches of the highway. The DPR for project, which is ready, evaluated an estimated cost of Rs. 342.60cr, said official sources, adding that the tendering process has been initiated and the project will be awarded on fast track basis.
