IRFC injects ₹600 in station development

Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) - the nodal agency for redeveloping stations - has secured ₹600 crore from Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC). These funds are likely to be used for developing and upgrading the Anand Vihar, Bijwasan and Chandigarh railway stations on EPC contract, and construction work is set to start very shortly, said Member-Engineering, Railway Board, Vishwesh Choubey. He informed that IRSDC requires ₹7500 crore to develop 50 railway stations, of which, 43 have been handed over for planning and project management consultancy to four public sector enterprises, namely, RITES, Engineering Projects (India) Limited, Bridge and Roof Company (India), Metallurgical and Engineering Consultants (India) Limited, and National Project Construction Corporation.
