L&T Const awarded ₹5,000-7,000-cr irrigation contracts in Madhya Pradesh
Larsen and Toubro's water and effluent treatment business has received repeat orders from the government of Madhya Pradesh to carry out two lift irrigation projects in the Dewas and Dhar districts. The projects, which have an estimated cost of ₹5,000-7,000 crore, will use water from the Narmada River to irrigate 2,05,000 hectares of land and benefit around 300,000 farmers. The scope of the projects includes survey and design, engineering, procurement, and the construction of pump houses, distribution networks, and a SCADA system for control and regulation. The micro irrigation projects will provide round-the-clock water supply to the farmlands during the rabi season.
