the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link Project in Maharashtra and a Super-Specialty Cancer
Japan has agreed to provide loans worth ₹2,288 crore to India for two projects - the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link Project in Maharashtra and a Super-Specialty Cancer and Research Centre in Mizoram. Japan has approved JPY 30.755 billion (about ₹1,728 crore) for the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link Project and JPY 9.918 billion (around ₹560 crore) for the development of the cancer centre in Mizoram. The Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link Project aims to improve connectivity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region by connecting Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, thus reducing traffic congestion and promoting regional economic development. This is the third tranche loan for the project. The cancer centre in Mizoram aims to improve access to cancer prevention, detection, and treatment, as well as human resource development and research that supports cancer control systems. It will contribute to achieving universal health coverage by strengthening the healthcare system pertaining to cancer in the state.
