tourism infra in Kangra Valley
Himachal Pradesh government has announced a significant investment of Rs 3,000 crore to boost tourism in lesser-known destinations, with a special focus on Kangra valley, which is now being declared as the 'tourism capital' of the state. Recognizing the pivotal role of tourism in the state's economy, the government has allocated funds for infrastructure improvements, including the decongestion of Circular Road and an increase in tourist footfall in Kangra city.

To facilitate these developments, the state government has earmarked Rs 77 crore for land acquisition and the procurement of structures on private land. Additionally, Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the expansion and enhancement of roads in the region. The responsibility of preparing a detailed project report (DPR), conducting surveys, and identifying obstacles has been entrusted to the state public works department.

The project has already received an initial release of Rs 97 crore, and the state government has expressed its commitment to providing additional funds as needed. This concerted effort aims to transform Kangra valley into a thriving tourist destination, attracting visitors from far and wide, and bolstering the overall tourism industry in Himachal Pradesh.
