Haryana hastens work on Rs 6,134-cr reservoir in Yamunanagar

In a bid to prevent repeat of July floods caused by Yamuna in Delhi and adjoining areas in Haryana, the state government has fast tracked the work on the construction of a 14-km-long reservoir to be built 4.5 km upstream from the Hathnikund Barrage in Yamunanagar district. The project will displace nine villages in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, besides shifting an 11-km stretch of NH-73.
