BBI sets up automated brick making plant in Maharashtra

Building Bricks India (BBI)
Galaxy Group's Building Bricks India (BBI) has set up an automated brick making plant in Karjat, Maharashtra, the first of its kind in the country. The plant, which covers 10 acres, will use the latest Japanese and German robotic technology to manufacture environmentally friendly bricks, according to the director of BBI, Ubaid Aziz Barudgar. The factory will have the capacity to produce around 50,000 bricks per day and will support the government's Make in India initiative. Handmade brick making has been banned in India due to environmental hazards. The bricks produced by the plant will be 20% more energy efficient and will be acoustically engineered for efficient sound proofing. They will also be pest, weather, fire and seismic resistant.
