Arunachal Pradesh initiates infrastructure development programmes in border areas

Arunachal Pradesh government is undertaking several infrastructure development projects in the northeastern state bordering China, Bhutan, and Myanmar, according to Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein. As part of the Border Area Development Programme (BADP), infrastructure has been developed in 65 model villages, with projects including road connectivity, foot suspension bridges, health facilities, drinking water, and electricity. The government has also focused on developing the education sector, with four new Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas and four existing schools upgraded under BADP. The Centre has sanctioned the Frontier Highway project, which will connect all the border areas of the state from East to West, at an estimated cost of ₹44,000 crore. The Vibrant Villages Programme has also been launched with a financial allocation of ₹4,800 crore.
