Adani Enterprises wins Ballada Bauxite mines block contract in Odisha
Adani Enterprises (AEL) has been announced as the preferred bidder for a bauxite block located in Odisha, a development which is expected to pave the way for the company to enter the aluminium manufacturing sector in India. The Ballada bauxite block, situated in Odisha's Koraput district, has resources of more than 22 million tonnes. The company, through its 100% subsidiary Mundra Aluminium, submitted the winning bid for the block. AEL has already committed to investing ₹57,575 crore in setting up an alumina refinery and an iron ore project in Odisha. The group plans to establish the alumina refinery near the bauxite reserves, which is a key source of the raw material required to produce aluminium.
