Industry commits ₹4.28 lakh-cr infra investment in UP

In a major push to the development of Uttar Pradesh, investors have committed huge investment in the state with the signing of 1,045 pacts worth ₹4.28 lakh crore on the first day of the UP investors’ summit, CM said. As many as 80 leading industrialists, among others, including Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of Aditya Birla group, Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani group, Subhash Chandra, chairman of Essel group, and Sanjeev Puri, MD, ITC, besides top magnates of other major business houses, participated in the event, which comes close on the heels of the 'Investors Summit' in February this year. The state government is making Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressway to connect industrial corridors and emphasized on regional connectivity connecting different districts and tourism spots. Over 500 companies participated in the mega summit and the state is also going all out for ensuring ease of doing business, approvals, permissions, and licences are going to be under one roof as the state is implementing digital clearance which will be monitored by the CM office. The lion share of the investment will go into road, rail and power sectors and investment will also be made in sectors like food processing, dairy, handloom and textiles, MSME, IT, start-ups, electronic manufacturing, films, tourism and civil aviation, he added.
