Indian Railways Wins National Energy Conservation Award 2025 for Miyana Station

Indian Railways has achieved a major milestone in energy conservation, with Miyana Railway Station in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, winning the National Energy Conservation Award 2025. On National Energy Conservation Day, Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the award, which was accepted by West Central Railway General Manager Smt. Shobhana Bandopadhyaya. Miyana Station was recognised as the Best Performing Unit in the Transport Category (Railway Station).

The award, conferred by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), honours exceptional efforts in reducing energy consumption. Miyana Railway Station earned the distinction through the effective use of LED lighting, BLDC fans, and 30–70% smart lighting circuit operation systems. These measures collectively saved 9,687 units of electrical energy, underscoring Indian Railways’ strong commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency.

With initiatives like these, Indian Railways continues to advance energy-efficient, eco-friendly operations across its network, positioning Miyana Railway Station as a model for future-ready, sustainable development.
