Adding to its project portfolio in the metro rail sector, IL&FS Transportation Networks in a joint venture with PJSC Kyivmetrobud has recently secured Rs. 371.22-cr Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) contract, said official sources, claiming that the scope of work in the contract included design validation and construction of underground stations. In this connection, the company has recently received Letter of Acceptance issued by CMRL to carry out the mega project. The company has formed 70:30 joint ventures with PJSC Kyivmetrobud and had submitted bids with the Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) and it was declared as the lowest bidder for the project, which is expected to be completed in 20 months, they claimed.
