IDA announces Rs. 700-cr bridge projects

Indore Development Authority (IDA) has decided to build six new flyovers and underpasses across congested areas within its jurisdiction at an investment of Rs. 700cr. In addition, a part of BRTS is also going to become an elevated corridor. A decision to this effect has been taken by the empower committee of the nodal agency, where the members pointed out six major places where condition of traffic causing a lot of hardships to the road users, said official sources, claiming that the authority would conduct a detailed survey paving the way making an elevated corridor from LIG square to Navlakha, for which, the state administration would seek Central help to build this and other projects in the city, said IDA Chairman, Shankar Lalwani, adding that the authority is planning to construct a new bridge parallel to Shastri Bridge, where traffic jam has become a common affair and this project would cost Rs. 40cr. In addition, the authority had also planned to construct a bridge-over and underpass at Vatika Square, Pipliyahana on Ring Road and underpass at Mhow Naka, he said.
