The State government in Telangana has proposed an investment of Rs.20,146 crore for infrastructure development in Hyderabad where the investment included Rs.6,700 crore for the construction of road network, Rs.2,926 crore for building water infrastructure and Rs.1,665 crore has been awarded for the Musi River development project, Rs.400 crore for drainage expansion and Rs.8,225 crore has been earmarked for double bedroom housing projects. Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao said that funds will be spent by Water Board, GHMC, Hyderabad Road Development Corporation and Musi Development Corporation. The road development corporation will take up white-topping of roads to a length of 300 km to meet international standards. Works have already started at score of places under the Strategic Road Development Plan. Tendering for these works worth Rs.1,700 crore has been completed. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for some other works costing Rs.100 crore has been prepared.
