NHAI is all set to award the six-lane Ananadapuram-Anakapalle Anandapuram-Anakapalle and Sheelanagar-Sabbavaram highway projects entailing an investment of Rs. 2,527 crore very shortly, with the land acquisition process is nearing completion thereby setting the stage for finalizing bids. The two projects have been proposed under hybrid annuity mode with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) investing 40 % of the cost and the agency bringing in the remaining 60%. NHAI will pay back the investment made by the agency in seventeen and half years and collects the toll and the entire process of awarding the project is to be completed by March 31 this year. The projects had been proposed to be taken up as a single one but at a later state it has been divided into two. Land from a total of 40 villages involving about 4,500 farmers/owners is being acquired and for the Anandapuram road, the land required is 245 hectares and for Sheelanagar 90 hectares the land acquisition process is set to be completed very shortly.
