In a significant development for India’s industrial mobility sector, HIDRAL S.A., the globally reputed Spanish engineering company specializing in industrial freight lifts, has entered into a strategic tieup with Gilco Global Pvt. Ltd.

This marks HIDRAL’s first operational entry into India, with the alliance focused exclusively on co-developing and servicing a new generation of 1,000–3,000 kg freight elevators engineered for Indian industrial and warehousing applications.

“India is experiencing accelerated growth in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and e-commerce infrastructure — all of which demand safer, robust, and reliable freight lift systems,” said Florencio Chacartegui Gómez - Director General, HIDRAL S.A. “Partnering with Gilco enables us to merge proven European engineering with India-specific operating realities.”

To accelerate knowledge transfer and project execution, HIDRAL has positioned its technical delegate in India to work alongside Gilco’s engineering and project teams.

“This collaboration is a step toward building India’s most reliable industrial freight elevator category, one shaped by global safety norms and Indian heavy-duty application needs,” said Aman Moudgil, Managing Director, Gilco Global Pvt. Ltd. “The focus is clear, co-creating 1,000 to 3,000 kg freight lift solutions that Indian industry can trust.”

Both companies confirmed that this engagement forms the foundation for a joint manufacturing program in India, aimed at delivering:
  • European-grade safety and design
  • Robust performance suited to Indian industrial loading cycles
  • Optimized costing for local applications
  • Local service support and parts availability
With India’s Make-in-India drive, rising warehouse automation, and stricter safety compliance norms across factories, the HIDRAL–Gilco platform is poised to reshape the industrial freight elevator market between 1-3 tons capacity.
