HBL Engineering Bags ₹132.95 Cr Kavach Safety System Railway Contract

HBL Engineering has won a ₹132.95 crore contract from South Central Railway for deploying the indigenous Kavach automatic train protection system. The project will cover the 446-km Vijayawada–Ballarshah section, including 48 stations and 10 locomotives. According to the company’s stock exchange filing, the work is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Kavach is a Make-in-India safety technology developed to prevent signal passing at danger (SPAD) and avoid train collisions. The initiative is part of Indian Railways' mission to enhance safety and reliability through indigenous solutions.
