Gujarat Govt Approves Land for Green Hydrogen Park

A renewable energy park

The Gujarat government has granted 'in-principle' approval for 1.99 lakh hectares of land to establish a renewable energy park dedicated to green hydrogen production. Addressing the Legislative Assembly, Governor Acharya Devvrat announced Gujarat’s ambition to become India’s green hydrogen hub, targeting an annual production of 30 lakh tonnes.

To facilitate this, the state has introduced a land lease policy for solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects. During the 2024 Vibrant Gujarat Summit, MoUs worth ₹3 lakh crore were signed for green hydrogen initiatives. Gujarat will require around 100 GW of renewable energy to support this production.
