Gujarat-Chinese firm inks $5.5-bn contract

Gujarat Chinese Firm Joint Venture
Prior to the formal opening of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit- 2017, the state government in Gujarat has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) entailing a staggering investment of $5.5 billion with China‘s Pacific Construction Group to build multiple mega projects across infrastructure and allied sector in the state.  In the MoU, which was signed between Deng Shuguang, vice-chairman of the Group and iNDEXTb, an arm of the Gujarat government, however, the partners have not yet specified any project for which the MoUs have been signed. In addition to this, other agreements were also signed with Liaoning Province of The People‘s Republic of China, Dynagreen Environmental Protection Group Co. Ltd., JCHK Holding Co. Ltd., Chengdu Xingrong Group, ZTEsoft Technology Co. Ltd and Sinoma Taishan Fibreglass Inc., involving carrying out multiple projects across sectors in the state.
