Govt. plans 52,319 low-cost housing units

Low Cost Housing Units
In order to provide affordable housing facilities to the urban poor, the Central government has approved the construction of 52,319 more houses for urban poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-Urban) at an investment of Rs. 2,946-cr with the Central assistance of Rs. 778cr. In the on-going housing for all initiative, Uttar Pradesh will be provided with 25,097 houses, Madhya Pradesh, 8,941, Chhattisgarh, 3,805, Maharashtra, 2,422, Nagaland, 720 Puducherry, and 48 houses will be built in Daman. With this, the ministry has so far approved construction of a total of 13,43,805 houses for urban poor with an investment of Rs. 72,781-cr and central assistance worth Rs. 19,633cr.
