Govt Targets 10,000 km Highway Construction in FY26

The government aims to build 10,000 km of highways

The government aims to build 10,000 km of highways in 2025-26 and generate ₹30,000 crore from road asset monetization.

The target is slightly lower than the 10,421 km goal for 2024-25, and the monetization estimate is also down from ₹39,000 crore expected this year.

The plan includes 1,100 km of highways in North-Eastern states, 750 km in tribal areas, and the operationalization of a 5,800 km high-speed corridor network.
