Govt Approves ₹18,036 Cr Railway Line Project

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an ₹18,036 crore railway project under the Ministry of Railways. This new line, connecting Indore and Manmad, aims to enhance mobility, efficiency, and service reliability within Indian Railways.
Aligned with PM Modi's Vision of a New India, the project will promote comprehensive regional development and boost employment and self-employment opportunities, contributing to the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative.
Part of the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity, the project will seamlessly connect people, goods, and services across six districts in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, adding approximately 309 km to the existing railway network. The project will also see the construction of 30 new stations, improving connectivity for about 1,000 villages and 3 million people, including those in the Aspirational District of Barwani.
