Govt Approves Rs 758 Cr Four-Lane Tiger Corridor on NH-46 in Madhya Pradesh

The Central Government has approved the development of a 22 km long ‘Tiger Corridor’ on the Itarsi–Betul section of National Highway 46 in Madhya Pradesh, with an estimated cost of Rs 758 crore.

The project involves upgrading the existing stretch into a four-lane highway, aimed at improving connectivity between Itarsi and Betul. The corridor is expected to enhance regional road infrastructure and facilitate smoother movement of passengers and goods.

Once completed, the four-laning of this section will improve connectivity between northern and southern parts of the country by strengthening links towards Nagpur and beyond. The project is also expected to reduce travel time, improve road safety, and support faster transportation of agricultural produce and mineral resources from the region.
