The Union government has given its consent to build a two-way national highway in the Agency areas of East Godavari, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts of Andhra Pradesh entailing an investment of Rs.2,000 crore. The funds meant to be invested on the 418-km long national highway. According to Roads and Buildings Minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu, the national highway commences from Rajamahendravaram and ends at Vizianagaram touching Gokavaram, Rampachodavaram, Addateegala, Rajavommangi, Chintapalli, Lambasingi, Paderu, Araku, Srungavarapukota and Vizianagaram. The state government is keen to complete the national highway project without delay and extends its support to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Currently, the two-way road is not enough to cater to the needs of the traffic and the adjacent areas of the national highway in the agency area, will be developed and aimed at bringing change in the lives of tribal community. Flyovers will be built on the national highway at busy junctions including Diwanchervu, Lalachervu, Morampudi, Vemagiri, Kadiyapulanka and Jonnada and move will boost tourism sector in the agency area thereby improving the economic activities.
