Government Allocates ₹777.61 Cr for Manipur Road Upgrade

Widening and upgrading the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Road

The government has approved ₹777.61 crore for widening and upgrading the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Road (Package-3) section of National Highway-102A under the Annual Plan for 2024-25. The project involves expanding the 48-kilometer single-lane road from Khonglo to Kasom-Khullen into a two-lane configuration with a hard shoulder. This vital stretch connects the districts of Ukhrul and Kamjong. Once completed, the upgraded road is expected to enhance connectivity, improve service quality, and reduce vehicle operating costs, boosting infrastructure in the region.
