Gorakhpur Airport Expansion to Boost Flight Capacity from 26 to 200 Daily

Gorakhpur Airport is set for a major expansion with a new terminal building that will significantly enhance its operational capacity. The upgraded facility will handle up to 200 flights daily, up from the current 26, and increase passenger handling capacity from 270 to 2,500 per hour.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the expansion was signed between the Indian Air Force, Airports Authority of India (AAI), and the Gorakhpur district administration, marking a key milestone in transforming the airport into a regional aviation hub.
