Union minister of state for road transport, V K Singh has approved ₹250 crore to complete the national highway widening work and assured the state government that the ministry would sanction an additional amount if needed to complete the project by December 2020. He also advocated underground and vertical parking systems and called for better utilization of land for new projects as land is scarce in Goa. The new deadline for completing the bridge over Zuari is April 2021, but due to the delay in completing the national highway expansion work, the cost has gone up. The Centre will sanction ₹175 crore for the Western bypass and ₹50 crore to construct two underpasses at Colvale and ₹8 crore for completing the missing link at Loutolim. The state government has also handed over proposals for the construction of a new Borim bridge, widening of road from Pollem to Karmalghat, Bicholim bypass, Mollem to Khandepar road, Bhoma flyover and road connecting Loutolim and Borim areas.
